Oh god, Deniese! That whole beginning bit - hilarious and so sweet! Matt's preoccupation with Dom already is a very, very good sign, is it not? XD And Monica!
“I did call you Matthew, you weren’t listening. What were you thinking about, a girl?” Her eyes lit up. “Or, maybe a guy? I’m very progressive for my age, you know,” she nodded solemnly.
God, I love children like that! So perceptive sometimes and they really don't care what they say. Bless 'em!
The whole bit with Mrs Utley was brilliant - god, I had a father a bit like that. *shudders* It's not good! But at least it's helped ease Matt's money worries a little.
And then the meal with Dom - it was so sweet how Matthew blurted out the veiled revelation that he was gay (and that blue shirt XD lol - hopefully it's not as washed and worn as the real one ended up lol) and Dom's unfinished question... Oh I hope they do get a chance to go on the meal again. ♥
I loved the mirroring at the end - it was so cinematic and so traumatic at the same time. I loved reading 'forty-three seconds later' I have such a weakness for reading things that precise. :o) And this sentence;
Dominic felt as though he was drowning.
really shows you just how Dominic is feeling. :o( It's such a desperate image to end with and I can't help a feeling of dread coming over me when I read it. ♥
