I don't even have words to describe how much I've liked this.

We need more fics like this. I know it's a terrible assumption and common misconception, but also a general trait/problem of slash fics written by women: many times the author "feminises" one of the men, probably because it's easier, as we're familiarised with it. However, you don't see often slash fics addressing a problem so horribly common in heterosexual relationships: violence against women. I'm not denying this doesn't happen in homosexual relationships, because abusive behaviour doesn't have anything to do with sexual orientation, but it's certainly something we don't assume it can also happen in man/man couples. I'm probably assuming way too much into your work, and you know I do it from respect and admiration, but for me Matt in this story played a role that sadly many women all over the world have to play due to male chauvinist culture. Many (me included) write fanfiction to escape from reality, and I have even read that one of the common reasons why women write slash fiction it's because they feel more comfortable writing about men, because they're entitled to do so many things we can't because of this fucking oppressive and sexist society we live in. I don't know if you took into account any of what I have just said when you wrote this, but I felt the need to express my thoughts about it because I think you did a very important job here: yes, Matt is a man, but you have just put him through a complex nightmare a great part of half of the humankind has to suffer. Fiction is a way to dream and forget about the shitty RL, but also a window to protest and fight against reality. This is a call for hope, for everyone out there, women and not, that have suffered emotional and physical abuse through their lives, and I thank you very much for writing this.

If I wasn't clear enough, I loved this story.
