Writing Meme Answers

I'm so sorry this is so late.  I basically don't have internet at home anymore so my participation here may slow a bit. I have to steal a few minutes here and there from public wifi to be able to do anything and with mom home now that doesn't always happen every day.  Forgive me.

Questions HERE.  Some of you chose the same numbers so I hope it's okay that I copy and pasted the answer once instead of creating two answers. <3

5.  Gah I had to think hard here because I am so hard on myself.  But.  If I had to name a strength it would have to be in my comedic abilities.  I dunno, it's just fun to put these boys in ridiculous situations, and in doing that, it's one of the few times I feel proud of my offerings.  See, now I am already cringing because I am wondering if that makes me sound conceited.
13.  The best writing advice I ever recieved was to not be afraid to take chances, because even if they feel intimidating, they can help you grow!
20.  My perfect writing conditions usually involve rain and nightfall.
38.  I have been blessed with a lot of favorable reviews over the years.  But the feedback I got on Division In Silver still sticks with me, because that fic was so different from my typical offerings and it really bolstered my confidence.

3.  A trope that I wouldn't touch with a ten foot pole, hmmm.  I think I would have to say anything involving scat or watersports.  That's really my only turnoff!
7.  Snippet of prose I am proud of.  How about this, from Liplocked:

In a cheap hotel room on the outskirts of town, Merlin stared at the beautiful blond man sitting on the bed before him and wondered if it would be a turn-off if he were to vomit profusely from nervousness.

It wasn't that he wasn't turned on by the man he'd picked up earlier that night at Boobaloo's - no, not at all. If anything, Merlin was enthralled; Arthur was all golden hair and a warm smile, and seemingly pleasant and kind as a male prostitute could be.

It was an added bonus that he was also affordable.

And another that he was wearing tight black leather pants and a shiny silver button-down shirt.

In the same cheap hotel room on the outskirts of town, Arthur looked at the beautiful brunet who was standing in front of him and wondered how he'd gotten so lucky.

Most of the men who propositioned Arthur were older, fatter, and considerably smellier. The young man who stood before him was thin, brunet and very fair-skinned. He'd been exceedingly polite to Arthur when he'd initially approached him but had remained silent on the cab ride to the hotel, simply tapping out a nervous beat on his knee with his fingertips. When he finally pulled off his hoodie and turned to Arthur, the blond bit back a gasp at the full, gorgeous head of dark hair he could now see.

Arthur wondered how old he was.

17.  Oh this is a great question!  I have NEVER written in order.  I have future bits of all my WIPs in fact, and I always skip around my timeline, I don't know, I've always found it to be a great help in some odd way haha.

For [livejournal.com profile] easilyerased :

4.  Dear lord, a lot sadly.  One involves Matt waking up to find out he shoots red glitter from his dick when he comes (do not look at me like that), a Belldom take on those sports bars like Hooters - but instead of women being objectified, men are.  Imagine Matt and Dom in skimpy shorts serving rowdy women and men hot wings and cold beer; having to endure being slapped on the ass, etc.  Also I want to revisit Professionalism Merlin and Arthur.
15.  If I could choose one of my fics to be filmed, it would have to be Fierce Frequencies.
27.  I think collaborations are fantastic, I have written with [livejournal.com profile] bluebirdwine in the past and I'm about to embark on another one very #soon.
37.  Talk about my current WIPs. Oh god.  Well, TPP is practically finished... in a manner of speaking.  FF is growing into something much more than I had initially anticipated when I started that fic.  SS:TK is giving me some trouble, I won't lie, I'm in a bit deeper than I would like to admit I am. :$  Bellamy's Buds isn't dead, but god, I don't know, I just need more hours in the day.  Skin hasn't been forgotten either, I promise.   Icarus is in progress, but I refuse to share it until it's completely finished.  It's just not fair to my readers that I leave them hanging.  Ugh, I made myself sad haha.

For [livejournal.com profile] chess_boxing :

2.  Yes, a trope I really want to try but haven't yet would be mpreg.  I did an indirect version of it with The Abso, but that being based on Rosemary's Baby, well it wasn't really an original idea.  So I'd love to tackle it someday, we don't see it much on museslash - it's more readily available in Merlin fandom, though.  Merlin fandom actually made me love mpreg!
8.  Snippet of dialogue that I am proud of.  I guess it would be this, from SOAPM:

"The county fair is next week. It's pretty much the only exciting thing that ever happens 'round here," Matthew replied. "Um, ya wanna go one night? Check it out? I mean, I reckon it's mainly for youngins, but-"

"Will there be a ferris wheel?"

"Um, yeah. There is every year I think."

Dominic went on, wide-eyed. "And cotton candy?"

"Yes, and cotton candy. And candy apples, and funnel cakes, and-"

"Oh, good sweet lord," the blond groaned, "there goes my figure!"

Matthew doubled over in laughter, Dominic crossing his arms petulantly. "What? This body," he swept his arms up and down his slender frame, "is a temple, blue eyes, and it must be treated as such!"

"I saw ya eat three Twix bars that one time, Dom. There's two in a pack, so actually, y'ate six Twix bars."

23.  If I could revise one of my old fics from start to finish which would it be?  This may shock some of you, but it would be Son of a Preacher Man.  I rushed it in the end, I think, in desperation to simply FINISH something.  I had a lot more regarding Gabriel that I never had the chance to get into, and I just... am not altogether happy with SOAPM somehow.  I dunno. :/
29.  Oh I suck at this one, R, forgive me, but I just don't have the confidence to think that I might even possibly be worthy of writing a prequel or sequel to another person's work!  :$

For [livejournal.com profile] rocknvaughn :

1.  In my comfort zone you will find a lot of fluff.  I feel most in my element in a fluff setting; in capturing the happiness and comfortable familiarity of an established relationship, if that makes sense.  In those times I am able to allow fic to wrap me up in it as though it were a big fluffy blanket.
12.  I don't think there is an episode that does, actually - or if there is, it escapes me at the time, which sounds ridiculous, I know.  I am legitimately drawing a blank in this one I'm sorry!
16.  If I could only write one pairing for the rest of my life, which would it be?  It would most definitely be Belldom.  As much as I've grown to adore Merlin and Arthur, Matt and Dom are my OTP.  There's so much more I want to explore in both of these pairings, though!
25.  In a beta I most of all am looking for honesty.  Someone who won't be afraid to tell me that something just doesn't work.  I am lucky in that I have had many great betas over the years. <3

For [livejournal.com profile] bluebirdwine :

9.  Seventeen Steps was the hardest to write, I think probably because it was my first foray into chaptered fic. I stressed over that fic like I've never stressed over one before honestly haha!
21.  I revise a million times, right up to the moment of posting.  There have been times I've had something ready to post and have literally rewritten things right here on the Post An Entry page here on LJ!
38.  (Taken from above)  I have been blessed with a lot of favorable reviews over the years.  But the feedback I got on Division In Silver still sticks with me, because that fic was so different from my typical offerings and it really bolstered my confidence.

For [livejournal.com profile] eternally_cave :

33.  I love crackfic!  It's hard to write, tbh, for me at least, but man, there's nothing better than a good crackfic when you're feeling down LOL.  Always fun to put these boys in ridiculous situations!
37.  (Taken from above)  Talk about my current WIPs. Icarus is in progress, but I refuse to post it until it's completely finished.
14.  The worst writing advice I've ever come across was to "realize that there are some things you cannot hope to write well".  How about no.  That's giving up before you've even started.
9.  (Taken from above)  Seventeen Steps was the hardest to write, I think probably because it was my first foray into chaptered fic. I stressed over that fic like I've never stressed over one before honestly haha!

For [livejournal.com profile] pwoperninjaelf :

6.  One of my definite weaknesses is in description.  I tend to get in a hurry and leave it up to the reader to flesh certain things out, and I really want to do a better job at that in the future.  Good descriptive writing is what we all aim for, after all
23.  (Taken from above)  If I could revise one of my old fics from start to finish which would it be?  This may shock some of you, but it would be Son of a Preacher Man.  I rushed it in the end, I think, in desperation to simply FINISH something.  I had a lot more regarding Gabriel that I never had the chance to get into, and I just... am not altogether happy with SOAPM somehow.  I dunno. :/
28.  Three of my favorite writers. [livejournal.com profile] dolce_piccante simply because she's such a pure, all-around talent.  I still read her fics and have so much admiration for the things she manage to do, it blows my mind.  Another would be [livejournal.com profile] rowanfaire - who isn't active in MS anymore, but, whether she realizes it or not, was a massive inspiration to me.  Her writing always had an easy, elegant pacing to it, that's always stuck with me and always will.  Lastly, I have to mention [livejournal.com profile] bluebirdwine, because she's one of those writers that you read and you sit back and think to yourself "...yeah, I want to be that good'.
32.  Smut. How do I feel about smut.  Well, I'm a fan, LOL.  A big fan.  I mostly love what you can achieve within the smut, though.  It's one thing to crank out a PWP, and who doesn't love one of those now and then, but to manage to pull off smut where the smut is... secondary to the emotion surrounding it, be it negative or positive, you've done something special.  Does that even make sense? Lol.

Thank you all, I loved writing this out. <3
