It's very good that you incorporate it in your story. For we all need to be remembered sometimes that things like this still happen to a lot of people.
I grew up around homosexuals and I never thought anything of it. I remember as if it was yesterday that someone told me there was a special name for what to me were just my uncle and his man. I didn't understand why it was different. They just belonged together just like my mum and dad.
All this hate people have towards each other just gives me the chills. And it's not just homosexuality. People are just so intolerant towards each other. It's sad.
